Independent software studio

Practical software for the work that still runs on spreadsheets.

PavinLabs builds small web apps that each do one job properly — quick to learn, cheap to run, and yours to use from any browser.

One idea behind both: take a job people do in a spreadsheet, and make a proper tool for it.

Hi, I'm Pavin.

Developer, designer, support desk, and the person who breaks production at 2am.

PavinLabs is one person. The "independent software studio" up at the top of this page is me at a laptop, plus friends and family who've been roped into testing things they never volunteered for and reporting bugs over dinner. Thank you. Sorry about dinner.

I build these because the tool for a simple everyday job is usually one of two things: a spreadsheet held together with hope, or a platform with a sales call, an onboarding specialist, and forty features you'll never open. I wanted the middle. Something small and fast — open it, do the thing, close it, get on with your day.

So the apps are free. Not free-trial free. Not free-until-I-raise-a-round free. Free.

The one exception: a few features cost me real money every month — receipt scanning calls an AI model that bills me whether anyone uses it or not. If you ever hit a paywall here, that's all it is. Not a growth strategy, just me staying solvent, on the grounds that a broke developer ships nothing.

That's the entire plan. Thanks for being here — it's a genuinely strange and lovely thing that anyone at all uses something you built at your kitchen table.
